Yamaha Genos: the new flagship

The Yamaha Genos is not just a version of the Tyros in a new jacket. The Genoskeyboard was in fact commemorated at Yamaha from 'zero' and re-conceived. This does not mean that Tyros users expect a steep learning curve. The Genos preserves some essential functions of the Tyros and will therefore immediately feel familiar. Yet you also immediately feel: this instrument is a milestone. With his breathtaking sounds, improved DSP effects, very natural-looking accompaniments and studio integration, he leaves every other keyboard in his genre far behind. And he doesn't look back, because the restyling and the very intuitive controls are of intergalactic quality. In short: the Yamaha G. will undoubtedly become an ideal companion for many. Whether it is the performer who must always have many styles and sounds with him, the producer, the arranger, the studio technician or the passionate hobbyist: the Genos is for everyone.

Even better audio

One of the reasons why this keyboard sounds even more impressive through the sound system is the conversion. The conversion, or conversion, from a digital to an analog signal, or vice versa, is crucial for what you and your audience will eventually experience. With a conversion of no less than 32 DAC on the output, you have a sound quality that cannot be challenged. Moreover, for recordings, you have a digital S / PDIF output. This allows you to record in no less than 24bit. For those who don't say much: a CD has a resolution of 16 bits. Go figure!

Convincing effects

With the built-in effects you can now experiment even more than ever before. Moreover, a whole series of new effects were introduced. You can use no fewer than 28 insert effects, exactly the way you want. Do you want to place all 28 effects on one voice? No problem! Unlike many other examples, the effects on the Genos are not superfluous 'gadgets' for playing birds. After all, the effects are all very sophisticated, practical and above all real 'soundshapers'. The engine behind all impact violence is the so-called 'VCM' technology. The same technology can also be found in the high-end mixing tables from Yamaha. Whether it is a classic compressor or a creamy rotary: it all comes out tastefully. In addition, the display also gives you a nice view of all those devices, making the experience pleasant for ears and eyes. Of course it does not stop with traditional effects. In this section you can also find guitar amplifiers, stompboxes and so much more. In summary, you can say that this new flagship from Yamaha can definitely show you the way if you are looking for your own unique sound.

Simulation and Articulation

To date, developers have put a lot of effort into simulating the sound of an acoustic instrument. For many instruments, the digital version of such an acoustic instrument was very close to the original. Still: once in practice, during a song or arrangement, the simulation often failed. Why? Well, the way a guitar or a trombone is played, for example, cannot simply be translated on a keyboard. A guitar sounds like a guitar by the combination of instrument and player: the attack, the fingering, the resonance, ... These are many facets that all need to be simulated if you want to create a convincing experience. Moreover, a keyboard player who plays with a guitar sound is not a real guitarist; his articulation is not the same.

The solution: AER

Yamaha has understood this problem and thoroughly addressed it with a technology that they named AEM (Articulation Element Modeling). This technology chooses the appropriate articulation for each instrument and links this to the keyboard player's playing technique. The attack, staccato, legato, tempo, ... they are all adapted to what is 'realistic' for the instrument that you picked out. Moreover, with the special articulation buttons you can still choose techniques that are typical for a certain instrument. To continue with the example of the guitar: bends, slides and so on are now also within your reach. But also a 'Brass Fall', if you get to work with wind instruments, are now within your reach.

A wealth of new sounds

The reason for the popularity of the Tyros and all its predecessors has always been their arsenal of sounds. The Genoskeyboard from Yamaha is of course not inferior to this and opens up a new can of sounds that, moreover, in terms of quality, makes their illustrious predecessors disappear. Now the Tyros was no small boy in terms of the ability to generate sounds, the Genos doubles that capacity. This makes that
