The Nord Piano 5 is Clavia's latest flagship piano. She has twice as much memory as her predecessor, both for the piano section and the sample section. With the Nord Piano 5, you can load no less than 2 GB of phenomenal sounding pianos into your instrument. They can be found through the online Nord Piano Library ... completely free! Meticulously detailed grand pianos, Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer models, Clavinets, harpsichords... With the Nord Piano 5 you choose which instruments best suit your needs. Those samples also interact in complex ways with the free Nord Triple Pedal. The speed and depth of its pressing are authentically and faithfully reproduced in your piano playing. The sounds that this produces, such as the resonance of the strings when you push in, and the sounds of releasing the dampers, also feel familiar. The resonances of the overtones and their interaction with the other strings are also sublimely reproduced in the Nord Piano 5. This way of sampling gives an unprecedented realism, which Nord holds as an unparalleled standard.

The keyboard contains a triple sensor. It has been carefully calibrated per key to get the most realistic response across the entire range of the keyboard. The keys are also extra weighted for more nuance and dynamics than ever before! Virtual Hammer Action technology, along with replicating the physical hammers in an acoustic piano, ensures the most true-to-life playing experience. The rehearsal mechanism for fast repeated notes feels unique and very familiar. Nord keyboards are known to feel very smooth and dynamic. With this upgrade, Clavia has once again succeeded in refining and improving that feeling.

In addition to the piano section, the Nord Piano 5 also has a completely overhauled sample section. It has also doubled in size. With the Nord Piano 5, you can load strings, synths, choirs, brass, and whatever else you want into your instrument. These samples are also available for free through the Nord Sample Library. Just like the piano samples, these are continuously kept up to date and supplemented with new samples. So you don't buy a piano, but a lifetime subscription to every sample that Clavia ever records. This sample section is 1 GB in size. This allows you to load hundreds of high-quality samples. These can then be layered or split with two layers. The piano section can also be split and layered on top of the sample section! A fat patch with a warm Rhodes, a light piano, a sparkling pad and melancholy strings on top for example ... It's possible! Also new to the Nord Piano 5 is the possibility to evenly merge splits. For example, a light sine tone that changes in height into an overdriven synth lead can be created intuitively and naturally with such a crossfade split. Everything becomes possible with the Nord Piano 5, in an unprecedented high quality, and with an unprecedented realism!

You can send those pianos and samples through the extensive effects section. Compression, EQ, amp simulation, distortion, phasers, flangers, chorus effects, vibratos... They all help fine-tune your presets to the unique tone you're looking for! You can now seamlessly merge those presets into each other thanks to the Seamless Transition technology. That way you can fly through your sounds without abruptly dropping off when switching ... A blessing for any performing artist! The Nord Piano 5 can actually be seen as two Nord Piano 4s in one, but with the dozens of improvements that Clavia has been able to realize with this instrument.
